Gaming has become far more modernized since the original Psychonauts game was released over 15 years ago in 2005.

Like many other modern video games, Psychonauts 2 uses an autosave feature to keep track of your progress frequently.

You don’t need to do anything to save in Psychonauts 2, the game is constantly recording your progress whenever you do something significant such as completing a combat encounter, finding something important, entering a cutscene, etc,; there is no way to manually save.

That said, it’s not saving literally every second of your gameplay. You should always properly exit the game by entering the main options menu instead of turning your game or console off directly as it will tell you that last time that your file was saved down to the second.
