How to Play Competitive Deathmatch in Overwatch

Recommended Videos

Overwatch’s two-year anniversary has finally kicked into gear, and there’s a number of new options and goodies for fans to dig into. In addition to new Anniversary Loot boxes and a Petra Deathmatch map, the anniversary kicks off the game’s first free-for-all competitive Deathmatch season. It works as any other competitive season might, and you’ll be playing on the new Petra map as well as Chateau.

Of course, with this new season, you’ll want to know exactly how you can jump into it. First off, make sure you’ve downloaded the latest update for the game, so the anniversary event is live for you. After that, it’s just a simple matter of selecting the right menu option. All you need to do from the main menu is select “Play,” and then select the Arcade option, where most of Overwatch’s new modes can be found.

From there, you should be able to select the free-for-all option introduced with Overwatch’s new anniversary event. Of course, it goes without saying that before you jump into competitive you’ll want to know how to play at least one character well, so don’t be afraid to jump into some casual matches if you just need a refresher or some training.
