Mortal Kombat 11 brings a brand new chapter to the franchise, one filled with time travel and all the brutal fatalities you could ever want. The newest entry also introduces some new mechanics, while bringing back old ones, like Show Mercy. Here’s how to Mercy in Mortal Kombat 11.
How to Mercy in Mortal Kombat 11
Mercy was a mechanic first introduced in Mortal Kombat 3, and it’s really only something to use if you’re feeling charitable toward your opponent.
What Mercy Does
Mercy is a feature that you can use at the very tail-end of a match to give your opponent a sliver of health back, giving them a second chance to turn the tables. Of course, this also gives you yet another chance to humiliate your opponent by beating them a second time.
Really, though, you should only use Mercy if you feel totally confident in your abilities, and if you just won by a hair it’s probably not the best idea.
How to Perform a Mercy in MK11
Show Mercy is used very much like Fatalities are, as they can only be used once per match, and when your opponent is in the “Finish Him/Her” state. In order to perform a Mercy in MK11, you need to be at medium distance, about 3-4 steps away, no matter the character you’re playing as.
Once you’ve put your opponent into Finish Them, you need to hit L2 if you’re on PS4 or LT if you’re on Xbox One, and then hit Down three times in quick successions. Enter the combination three times straight, or you can just try spamming the combo until it activates.
You’ll know the move has activated went the giant gold letters of Mercy pop up on your screen. Then your opponent will get a shred of health back, and you’ll be back into the fight.
It’s also good to keep in mind that you can use Mercy in both offline and online modes.
