How to Use Techniques in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Recommended Videos

When your standard weapons and attacks just aren’t quite cutting it in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, techniques is what you’re after. These are powerful attacks or abilities that seriously buff your characters in Kingdom Battle. These aren’t available from the very start of the game, however, so here’s what you need to know to use techniques.

To first unlock techniques for use in Kingdom Battle, you’ll need to progress through a chunk of World 1. Beep-0 will then receive an email from you ‘Biggest Fan’ that allows each of your party members to learn a special technique.

To use these in battle, simply select the character whose ability you want to use, and press ZL or ZR to cycle through the available techniques. Use it as you would any other attack or ability in the game, however, you’ll want to think even more about when and how you use them in Kingdom Battle than you would for standard attacks. Techniques only last for one turn and must be recharged for a few turns afterwards. As such, make sure you’re using Techniques at the perfect moments.

For example, Rabbid Peach has a shield ability, so using this when she’s not about to take a ton of damage would be pointless. Just because you have it as an option, doesn’t always make it the right choice.

It’s worth noting that the number of turns required to recharge your Technique will vary depending on the one you’re using. Ones unlock later in the game will take longer to recharge, while the earlier, weaker ones won’t take as long.
