Sometimes, a simple level-up just isn’t enough to evolve your Pokemon, and there are plenty of special evolutions in the Gen IV remakes that require items or specific circumstances. If you’re trying to figure out how to get an Oval Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, here’s where you need to look.
How to Get an Oval Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
There’s one Oval Stone that can physically be picked up in the remakes, and it can be found inside the Lost Tower. The tower is found just south of Solaceon Town, on Route 209. As soon as you exit the town, it’s on your left. It’s a large grey building that’s hard to miss.
The Oval Stone is located on the second floor of the tower, right in front of a Trainer named Youngster Oliver. Here’s the exact location:
Oval Stones can also be found when catching Happiny. The Pokemon has a 50% chance to be holding the stone, which is handy since it needs the stone to evolve. Happiny can be found in the Trophy Garden on Route 212.
What Pokemon Use Oval Stone to Evolve?
As previously mentioned, the stone is used to evolve Happiny into Chansey. Simply level up Happiny during the daytime while it’s holding the stone to make it evolve. Then, increase its friendship through battling or walking around to evolve Chansey into Blissey. You’ll get a Blissey when Chansey levels up with high friendship.
