To help Master Chief finish this fight in Halo Infinite, you’re going to want to upgrade his various bits of equipment, like the Grappling Hook or his shields. That’s where Spartan Cores come in, a collectible resource that can be found all across Zeta Halo if you know where to look. In this guide, we’ll be talking you through how to get Spartan Cores in Halo Infinite, and what they’re used for.
Getting Spartan Cores in Halo Infinite
Spartan Cores are found in UNSC Crates scattered across Zeta Halo. These look like this:
Once you’ve found one, just walk over to it and press and hold X to open the crate and add the Spartan Core to your collection.
You can also check the locations of all Spartan Cores by opening your map. Once you’ve reclaimed an FOB, you’ll reveal any Mjolnir Armories, Spartan Cores and UNSC Squadrons that need rescuing in its nearby vicinity.
Spartan Cores are marked on your map with an arrow icon.
What Are Spartan Cores?
Spartan Cores are essentially Halo Infinite’s skill points. Once you’ve found one, you can press the View button to open up the menu and then tab over to ‘Equipment.’
Here, you’ll see all of the various bits of Halo Infinite Equipment you’ve unlocked so far. Each of these has its own upgrades which can be purchased with, you guessed it, Spartan Cores!
The amount of cores needed increases as you progress through the upgrades for each ability. For example, the first upgrade for the Grappling Hook only requires 1 Spartan Core, whereas the last one requires 3.
