God Eater 3 takes you back to the apocalypse once again, facing down hordes of fearsome Aragami. You’ll need every tool and attack in your repertoire to take on some of the tougher enemies in the game, and your abilities will grow more complex as you progress. With that, here’s how to get and use Burst Arts in God Eater 3.

Burst Arts can seriously increase your damage output in God Eater 3, so they’re going to be something you’ll consistently want to focus on. Luckily, they aren’t too hard to use or get.

How to Use Burst Arts

Burst Arts naturally happen as part of your moveset in God Eater 3, changing your regular moves into more powerful versions. However, first you’ll need to raise your Burst Gauge to enable them. This is done simply by Devouring Aragami with your God Eater.

To Devour, you hold down the triangle button until it’s fully charged, then release to unleash the Devour attack. Alternatively, you can hit R1+triangle to do a quick Devour attack.

These attacks are close range, so you’ll need to be near the enemy, but your weapon will take a big bite out of the Aragami and then charge your gauge, enabling you to use Burst Arts.

Each Burst Art in God Eater 3 will affect different attacks, with all of the basic ones changing your basic attack on square with each weapon. To change your arts, go to the Terminal in your base and select Loadout.

From there, you’ll see three slots underneath your current weapon, where you can equip Burst Arts. If you go into equip a new art, it’ll give you a description and what attack it affects, for example it’ll say “->Improved (Square) Attack,” or something similar.

Of course, in order to equip arts you’ll need to unlock more.

How to Get Burst Arts

Getting more arts in God Eater 3 is simply a matter of leveling up the Burst Arts you currently have equipped. Each weapon type in the game will start with one Burst Art, and the arts carry over between each weapon of a given type.

To level up arts, all you need to do is use them, so Devour Aragami to get a gauge, then just go crazy using your current arts, and at the end of the mission you’ll get experience for them. Once arts reach level 2 or 3 they’ll unlock new ones, so it’s just a matter of using them a lot.

It’s a good idea to use every weapon type at least once early on in God Eater 3 and unlock a few arts. That way, when you make it to more difficult late-game content, you’ll have weapons that have more robust movesets.
