How to Beat Thanos in Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite Battle Royale’s latest game mode is Infinity Gauntlet, which sees the incredibly powerful accessory drop somewhere on the map and whoever gets their first transforming into Thanos. The titan has some incredibly powerful attacks, as well as 800 Health and 200 Shield. He can seem an impossible foe to beat, but there are some tips and tricks you should keep in mind when facing off against Thanos in Fortnite Battle Royale.

First and foremost, use his slow nature to your advantage. Standard characters in comparison are pretty nippy, so turn corners, hide in buildings, and make yourself as difficult as possible to hit. You also want to keep your distance, as Thanos’ close-range melee attack will wipe you out in one. As a result, the best kinds of weapons to beat Thanos in Fortnite Battle Royale are ranged ones. Sorry shotgun lovers, they’re still effective, but you’ll really need to stay on top of your footwork if you’re too survive a close encounter with Thanos.

One of the best moments to attack Thanos is when he jumps into the air. He’ll either do a ground pound attack which takes a second to charge up, or he’ll fire a bombardment of lasers down. Either way, you’ll notice that he hangs in the air for a while before actually executing his attack. Time it right, and you can easily knock off 200-300 damage with a few headshots with a SCAR or sniper.

Most importantly, though (and we cannot stress this enough), if you see someone else helping you shoot Thanos and deplete his shield and health, do not shoot them. Once he’s dead, it’s a free-for-all again sure, but until the Infinity Gauntlet drops to the floor, everyone’s mission should be working together to take him down, otherwise, you’re only making it easier for Thanos to get an easy kill and regenerate his shields.

Aside from that, beating the big purple guy in Fortnite is very much the same as any other enemy, as long as you keep your distance and start building as soon as he starts firing that powerful laser attack. Aim for the head, tap fire, and make sure to always have the high ground. Remember what happened to Anakin, now.
