Unless you’ve been living under a rock, chances are you’ve likely heard about Fortnite in one form or another over the past 12 months. The game has taken the world by storm thanks to its Battle Royale mode, and the fact that it’s on pretty much every major platform out there right now. If you’re looking to join in on the Fortnite craze, you may be wondering how you actually get the game. Well, we’re here to talk you through it all platform by platform so you can get straight into the action without any complications or confusion.

How to Get Fortnite on PS4

To get Fortnite on PS4, you’re first going to need to open up the PlayStation Store on your console. From here, use the Search option the magnifying glass icon), and start spelling out Fortnite. You should see it appear as a result on the right side of the screen. Press X on this and then select the option to Download the game. It’s free-to-play, too, so it won’t cost you a penny at this point.

Once the game has been downloaded, you should see it on your PS4’s home screen. Simply press X on the tile as you would any other game to open it and start playing.

It’s worth keeping in mind that if you’re going to create an Epic Account or login to your Epic Account with your PS4 account, currently, you will not be able to use that Epic Account on any other platform.

How to Get Fortnite on Xbox One

It’s a similar process over on the Xbox One, except this time you’re going to use RB to tab over to the Store page from your home screen. After this, select the search option and begin typing in ‘Fortnite.’ Again, you should see it appear, so select it and get the download going as you would anything else off the Store.

When you’re searching for it, however, you’ll probably notice a few different types of Fortnite pop up. If you’re wanting to play Battle Royale, look for the one that is simply titled Fortnite Battle Royale. It’ll be free, too, so don’t go buying any Founders Packs, as these are for the Save the World PvE mode (not the one that everyone is talking about).

How to Get Fortnite on PC

To get the game on PC, things are slightly more complicated. You’ll need to first download the Epic Games launcher here. If you haven’t got one already, you’ll also need to sign up for an Epic Games account. Once you’re all installed and signed into your account, look for Fortnite at the top of the Epic Games launcher window. Click on this and then the enormous ‘Install’ button on the page that appears.

It may take a while to install, but once it’s done, hit the play button, it’ll enable some anti-cheating systems, and then the game will boot up.

How to Get Fortnite on Nintendo Switch

To get Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch, you’ll want to head to the Nintendo eShop by clicking on the shopping bag icon at the bottom of the home screen. From here, you can either use the Search option for find Fortnite that way, or you can check the Top Sellers chart, as it’ll likely be on there for a while.

Once you’ve find it, confirm you want to download it and your Switch will take you back to your home screen. Once the progress bar has finished filling up, you’ll be all set to start the game up and hop on board the Battle Bus.

How to Get Fortnite on iOS/ Android

Finally, if you’re wanting to get Fortnite on iOS or Android, you’ll want to open your mobile device’s app store and go to the search option. Again, search for Fortnite and select the result that appears. Also, be sure to check that the developer/ publisher of the game is listed as Epic Games so as to ensure you don’t download a knock-off of the game instead.

It’s worth noting that currently, you cannot get Fortnite on Android devices, but it will be coming later this summer and you’ll be able to get it on your phone following the above steps.

That’s all you need to know to get one of the world’s most popular games on every platform it’s available on. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
