Don’t Be Predictable
For Honor Multiplayer Tips
When players enter into a duel with another opponent in For Honor, they’ll need to outplay their foes in the art of combat. One of most important aspects when engaging in a one on one scenario is is to always shift your stances. If you attack a target multiple times while facing a specific direction, this will make it easier for your opponent to block after the first strike. Try changing your stances after every strike to make it difficult for your foe to counter, allowing you to pile on more damage.
This goes the same for Guard Breaking; while it can be easy to initiate every attack with one, try to avoid this. Missing a Guard Break leaves you exposed for a few seconds and the move cannot interrupt attacks, meaning you’ll be killed quickly if you’re not paying attention.
Always try to keep your opponents guessing by faking attacks or advances, a great way to force them to expose their body. Going for a strike only to roll away and hit them from the side can easily help you turn the tide of the fight. The last you want is for your opponent to know what you’ll do before actually doing it.
It’s Okay To Run, Promise
For Honor Multiplayer Tips
Look, everyone wants to be the hero in For Honor, however, it’s important to know when a fight is lost. Unless you are a very skilled player or using a big hero that can knock down opponents like the Shugoki, fighting more than one opponent at a time is exceedingly dangerous. Not only can they force you into a corner, but if you’re hit the duo can easily stun lock you with Light Attacks until you die. If you round the corner and see two other combatants staring at you, try to escape before they can engage. Every death counts in For Honor, so don’t fret if you need to run and find help with other allies roaming the battlefield.
Another time to book it is when you are playing domination and your health is starting to get dangerously low. If you’ve just finished off a fight and are staring at a mostly depleted health bar, then you might want to run for an objective. If a captured control point is under your team’s control, then you can hang out there until you regain some health. That being said, don’t just charge into combat
Make a Balanced Team
For Honor Multiplayer Tips
There are 12 different characters that players can choose, so make sure before you’re picking one that balances your team out. Typically, a well-balanced squad is made up of at least one bigger, tank character, two medium fighters, and one backline harasser. You can have any combination of these and make it work, however, having four of the same class will not always bode well.
You can see which hero your team is picking during the deployment screen on the right-hand side by their names. While the enemy team’s composition will be hidden at first, it’s always important to pick what works best for the group you have.
Play the Objective
For Honor Multiplayer Tips
While this may seem like a no-brainer, it’s important to remember that game modes like Domination are more determined by how you play the objective rather than raw kills. Always try to hold at least two points at all times, as this will increase the number of points you earn over time as you slay both human and A.I. foes. Just rushing by a point without even looking at it will only hurt your team, so make sure to capture them. This also goes for killing the base soldier in For Honor, as they will give your team points. Once a team passes 1,000 points, then you can eliminate the remaining enemy team once and for all. Make sure to never ignore the objective or kill the base enemies, as they are critical to not only leveling up but winning.
Don’t. Split. Up.
For Honor Multiplayer Tips
One of the easiest ways to die in For Honor is to run off on your own without any support and charge at the enemy team. Not only will this make you an easy kill, but will make your team a man down when they try to either defend or recapture objectives. If you die and you see your teammates still respawning, just wait a few seconds for them. It’s better to charge in together than get ganked by a group of enemies just waiting around the corner. Remember, you can always see both the enemy and ally death spots, so make sure to know what you’re getting yourself into before running out of the main spawn.
If you find yourself with a small break in the combat, try and revive your allies. It doesn’t take long and getting them up at full health can make a huge difference in a fight. Always try and remain together, otherwise it can be too easy for players to become isolated and then slaughtered on the battlefield.
For Honor is a game all about nuance and understanding when it the best chance to strike. Following these fundamentals will help you grow as a fighter and learn the various combinations that a certain character can pull off. With some practice and time, you can dominate the battlefield in no time.
