Knuckleball Free Kick – FIFA 17

Free kicks and other set pieces have received a big mix up in FIFA 17. While this does allow for you to have more control over exactly where you want the ball to go or how the set piece will play out, it also means a few things have changed. Here’s how to do a knuckleball free kick and score.

First things first, you need to make sure your free kick is in the right area to be able to nail it. Anywhere from 30 yards and further back is a good distance, you’ll just have to adjust the power which we’ll get to in a moment.

Next, you’ll need a player with high power, free kick accuracy, and the power free kick trait. That last one is important as it’ll give your knuckleball the extra oomph behind it to stop the keeper from getting to it. Once you’ve got your player ready, simply aim the ball for the middle man in the wall and just a little bit in from the post (like half a player’s worth). Now that you’re in position, hold down LB/ L1 and press B/ Circle and Up on your left stick at the same time. You’ll want your power gauge to fill three bars if you’re at 30-35 yards, and three and a half if you’re any further back than that.

If you’ve done it right, the ball will sail just over the wall and have enough dip and swerve to make its way past the keeper. Getting the power and aim just right can be difficult, so don’t be afraid to keep trying it until you nail it.
