How to Beat John Seed Easily in Far Cry 5
Heading down to the southwest area of Far Cry 5’s map will see you in the territory of John Seed. Determined on cleansing people of their sins in pretty abstract ways, John Seed is clearly not stable. So after you’ve raised enough resistance in his area, he’ll invite you to the church to get things sorted out. Here’s what you need to know to beat John Seed easily when you reach this point.
There are two main parts to your encounter with this Seed sibling in Far Cry 5. Once the cutscene has finished in the church, you’ll first need to shoot your way out. Use whatever guns you prefer here and clear ’em out. Next, you’ll need to hop into the conveniently-placed jeep and jump onto the mounted gun on the back. At this point, Mary May should hop into the driver’s seat and drive you through to John Seed’s farm. We had a few hiccups with getting her to just get in the car here, but either shooting her (if you can see her), or reloading from the last checkpoint worked for us.
On your way to John Seed’s farm, there’s plenty of resistance both on the roads and in the air. Focus on keeping the roads clear before shifting your gaze to the skies. After a few runs at you, if you’ve been landing your shots, the planes will buzz off shortly before you reach your destination.
Once at John Seed’s place in Far Cry 5, you need to immediately hop out of the car and look for the plane just behind you on the runway. Hop inside and take the fight to John Seed in the skies.
The crazy brother has a health bar here which you’ll need to deplete. He’s a pretty good pilot, though, so don’t expect an easy target. We found that the missiles just didn’t offer enough accuracy here, so we advise using the machine guns instead. A surefire method we found was to get behind John Seed and use the machine gun to whittle his health down. Be careful of evasive maneuvers and crashing into him, though, as this can lead to you having to restart this section over.
Once you’ve dealt enough damage to John Seed in Far Cry 5, you’ll then need to drop down to the ground and finish him off with a weapon. A shot or two should be enough to see him drop to the ground and hand over that precious bunker key.
