How to Beat the Mother in Dying Light: The Following
Dying Light: The Following is full of terrifying creatures you’re tasked with killing. From thugs to zombies, the game has got ‘em all. One particular enemy you’ll be facing is called The Mother – the leader of a crazed cult who holds the power to keep her servants from turning into the infected. She’s the game’s final boss and packs quite the punch, making for one of the hardest battles in the game. If you’re struggling, here’s how to beat The Mother in Dying Light: The Following.
The first thing to note is that this fight in Dying Light: The Following is divided into several segments. During the first part, you’ll have access to all of your equipment, guns, and other weapons when facing The Mother. One easy way to deal with her is by rushing atop balconies or other higher platforms to bait her into climbing, which will leave The Mother wide open to any attacks.
Once you manage to weaken The Mother, hordes of other monsters resembling the creature will begin storming the room. At this point in the fight, you’ll want to use ranged weapons and keep them at bay. It’s important to note that you won’t have to kill all of the monsters, but it’s a good idea to use all of your healing items and other supplies as you won’t need them anymore during the next phase.
Moving forward, you’ll begin to notice Crane undergoing a mutation process, forcing you to fight with his mutated hands. Fight her until you come to a point where you see her health bar displayed on top of the screen, signaling that you’re nearing the end of this battle in the game. Once you reach the final phase, use the old bait trick to reach the higher platforms and attack The Mother when she’s climbing. It’s important to keep your distance from The Mother at this point because she has access to a new shockwave ability, dealing some serious damage.
As long as you continue to trick her into climbing, you should be able to kill The Mother without too much trouble. You won’t have any access to healing items, but you’ll regenerate health on your own so long as you keep your distance from any incoming attacks.
