Unlocking the Training Grounds in Death Stranding Director’s Cut

The Training Grounds is a new area that Sam can access via any delivery terminal in Death Stranding. It’s pretty similar to the VR missions we got in the Metal Gear Solid games, and it’ll be updated periodically with new timed missions you can take on. Your timings will be uploaded online if you connect to the network, allowing you to compete with other players around the world as well.

To unlock the Training Grounds, you’ll need to play through the story until you reach chapter 2. Keep taking on the story-related deliveries until Die Hardman tasks you with delivering resources to build a bridge near the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City. After completing that delivery, check the delivery terminal again to find Request 77, which will take you to the new abandoned factory location. If you take on that request, you’ll be issued a Maser Gun, and this will also unlock the Training Grounds.

From this point on, all you have to do is interact with any delivery terminal in the game that’s located in a proper base or shelter, then choose the Training Grounds option at the bottom of the menu — it’s been combined with the Private Room option.

You’ll be taken to a new instanced area, and you can interact with the terminal there to take on special timed missions. It’s generally a good idea to pop in here every so often, especially when you get new weapons or equipment that you’d like to test out before heading out on another delivery run.

That’s all you need to know about how to unlock the Training Grounds in Death Stranding Director’s Cut. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
