CoD Vanguard has arrived, taking us back into the trenches of WWII. This time around, the action follows a Special Forces team as they try and stop Freisinger, though the game’s missions often take the form of flashbacks to provide additional backstory for the main protagonists, giving you a chance to play with their own specialities and playstyles. When you reach the end of CoD Vanguard, however, you’re given a certain choice that some players may think can lead to multiple endings. Well, here’s what you need to know.

So, you’ve reached the end of ‘The Fourth Reich’ mission and you’re now chasing down Freisinger onto the runway. You catch up with him, tackle him to the ground, and then he starts going on about how great ‘American freedom’ might suit him, basically bragging that he’s too valuable a source of information to be killed.
Petrova doesn’t take lightly to this, clobbering him over the back of the head with the butt of her rifle, and stabbing her knife into the oil drum he finds himself resting against, covering himself in the process.
At this point, Petrova then lights her cigarette and throws the lighter to you, and you’re now prompted to press R2/RT to ‘Burn.’
It’s this which has people wondering whether or not there’s actually multiple endings in CoD Vanguard.
Are There Multiple Endings in CoD Vanguard?
No, there are not multiple endings in CoD Vanguard’s campaign.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that there may be, however, with the ‘Burn’ option you’re given towards the very end of the final mission, where you’ll ultimately choose whether to burn or keep alive the main antagonist, Freisinger, the new leader of ‘The Fourth Reich.’
Ultimately, though, this doesn’t matter. If you choose not to burn him, then Petrova will flick her cigarette on him, burning him alive all the same. It’s not a pleasant way to go, but after the atrocities Freisinger committed, he’s not really deserving of a more pleasant way to go.
As such, once you’ve finished the campaign, you won’t find anything else to do in the single-player side of CoD Vanguard. You can then shift your attention to grinding out those ranks and waves in multiplayer and zombies respectively.
