Catching the Red Snapper

To catch a Red Snapper in Animal Crossing New Horizons, equip any fishing rod and make your way to the beaches on your island. You want to fish in the sea (anywhere around your island will do).

Red Snappers can be caught throughout the entire year at any time of the day. You want to keep an eye out for a Large-sized shadow, but this does mean it’s the same size as the dreaded Sea Bass, so you can expect to catch a fair share of these in your attempts to catch a Red Snapper.

You can improve your chances of catching one by using Fishing Bait. Simply use it when standing next to seawater and a shadow will spawn. This improves your chances of catching rare fish, including the Snapper itself.

Red Snapper Sell Price

The Red Snapper can be sold to Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny for 3,000 Bells.

If CJ is visiting your town, he’ll buy it off you for 4,500 Bells, so it’s well worth saving any Red Snappers you get up if you’re not in a rush for the Bells to make an extra bit of cash for your time.
