On top of that, two players can play couch co-op by splitting the Joy-Cons and sharing the controller. There are a wide range of missions you can take on with another person, and with a cast of over 20 iconic characters, there’s a play style in there for everyone. While you can challenge other players in the online tournament mode, Mario Tennis Aces offers a co-op mode in the form of doubles. You and your friend can team up and battle two other players online, adding another layer of strategy and communication in the court.  Moreover, you can opt to use motion controls when playing, making Mario Tennis Aces the perfect co-op game for parties or kids.

Both characters are bound by yarn, which means you don’t exactly have the luxury of full control over your character. Instead, you have to actively communicate with your partner and stick your heads together to come up with solutions that the both of you can manage as a team. If you’re looking for a solid co-op game to play with a friend, look no further than Unravel Two.

State of Decay 2

state of decay 2, xbox one, may 2018

The zombie apocalypse rages on and it’s your job to save the survivors in State of Decay 2. For the most part, surviving basically means heading out into the open world and collecting supplies for your main base. The undead is one of your biggest hurdles in State of Decay 2, and they’ll stop at nothing to eat your brains when you’re out looking for resources.

State of Decay 2 does offer a co-op that brings your friends into your world or vice versa. They can help you collect supplies and fortify your base when needed, for the most part. It’s an enjoyable experience to hunt together, and having more allies on your team increases the chances of staying alive. For all of the wonky bugs and glitches the game suffers from, playing with others via co-op pretty much makes up for it.
