An interesting take how to create a game based around Lovecraftian mythology, The Sinking City is an open world title with its fair share of quirks.
Developed by Frogwares, the game tasks players with uncovering the cause behind a mysterious flood in New England. This is easier said than done though, as the flood has brought with it odd entities and a spreading madness set to take hold of the entire city.
As such, the player’s investigation becomes a race against time as they try to piece together the mystery, uncovering plots and evading danger all the while.
The game has been boasted as incredibly open-ended, with the player left to their own devices on where to go, who they interact with, and how they arrive at their disturbing conclusions.
It’s ambitious to be sure, but given what’s been shown of the game so far, there’s more than a few promising elements that could make the title a surprise hit in the gaming community.
