It was also announced that Square Enix is currently developing a brand new RPG for the Switch too. This one’s called Project Octopath Traveler (weird name, we know), and it looks to be a 2D side-scroller style game with plenty of RPG elements. The trailer showed off the player character traveling around a medieval fantasy town, interacting with NPCs, and also engaging large enemy bosses in what looked like traditional turn-based combat.

It definitely helps that the game’s artwork and style look incredibly charming and polished, and it reminds us of Akihiko Yoshida’s work on games like Bravely Default and the upcoming NieR: Automata. No release date for this one either, however.
