If you haven’t thought about the first Valkyrie Profile game in a while you’re not alone. Once regarded as one of the best JRPG series around back in the days of the original PlayStation, namely for the depth of its combat mechanics and story, the series has fallen by the wayside in the years since.
This was most likely due to the lower sales of the series with each subsequent entry, with the majority of the original game’s sales coming from Japan alone. As such, the series has only seen a smart phone game release in recent years, with fans who own other consoles left out in the cold.
While it might be a bit of a gamble in terms of drawing in new fans, a port of the original game or the PSP remastered version Lenneth would most certainly attract the series’ longtime supporters and diehard JRPG fans alike.
Plus, if it’s successful enough, it could garner enough attention for a new entry into the series exclusively for Nintendo’s portable home console.
