My Roommate is a Cat
Subaru Mikazuki is a mystery writer who doesn’t like people, and has kept his distance from them ever since his parents died when he was younger. Though he has friends who try to help him open up, he still finds himself wishing he could isolate himself entirely.
This changes during a visit to his parents’ graves. Once there, he finds a stray cat in need of food and shelter. Though reluctant at first, he eventually takes it home with him and decides to take care of it as his own pet.
Thus begins a journey of self-reflection, opening up to others and learning to deal with clashing personalities. There are sure to be hijinks around every corner, but by getting through them, both Subaru and his newfound companion could help each other grow.
Though it’ll definitely resonate best with pet owners, and especially cat owners, My Roommate is a Cat has all the trappings of a relaxing, heartwarming experience sans romantic entanglements or Moe.
It boasts excellent art style and sound design as well, with hints of classics like Kimi ni Todoke or March Comes in Like a Lion used to great effect.
