Developed by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force, Age of Calamity is a new musou-style game that also serves as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Taking place a whole 100 years before the events of that game, players will get to experience the journey with Link, Zelda, Impa, and the four champions as they learn how to pilot the Divine Beasts and deal with the conflict. Many familiar elements from Breath of the Wild make a return in this game as well. Here’s how to cook in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity.

In Breath of the Wild, you could cook meals and eat them to restore your health and give yourself various bonuses. While meals don’t exactly help to heal you up in Age of Calamity, they’re still vital to giving you an edge in missions and can also help you level up your characters faster.

You’ll be able to cook one meal before each mission to give yourself a bonus and that’s it. After selecting a mission or challenge, select the cooking section on the mission-ready screen and you’ll see a whole list of recipes that are currently available to you.

Pick the recipe you want and press the A button, then press the + button to confirm your selection and start cooking. Once you’ve done that, you can start the mission with that bonus active. Of course, you also need to have enough materials on hand to prepare the meal.

Ingredients can be purchased through the shops that you’ve unlocked in the Services tab, or by picking them during missions as you smash crates, open treasure chests, and defeat enemies.

It’s definitely recommended that you always have a meal ready before starting a mission, especially since the later missions can get pretty challenging. For instance, if you know you’re going to be dealing with a lot of fire-type enemies, you might want to prepare a meal that increases your fire resistance before charging in.

That’s all you need to know about how to cook in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
