DC Comics are best known for being dark and gritty, so the Injustice universe leans into that. The prologue to the epic fighting game has seen its fair share of death and violence over the years, and the fourth year is no exception. Â James Gordon is doing his best to take up the Batman mantle while Bruce is MIA, but it’s not long before Wayne’s got the cowl back on. With Mr. Bloom’s threat growing, both men have to work together to bring him down in the conclusion to Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s epic run on the Dark Knight.
Playing poker is fun and all, but playing it like the DC Comics bad guys (probably) play is a whole different affair. With bad guys gracing the chips and cards, this is one good gift to give this holiday. Everybody loves Harley Quinn, especially after her appearance in Suicide Squad. With this statue, you can have her around you at all times in the day, watching over you with her baseball bat. You can take Oliver Queen out of Star City, but you can’t take the Arrow out of Oliver Queen. You had some good times with Arkham Asylum and City on the PS3 and 360. Now that they've been ported over to the PS4 and the Xbox One, it's the perfect time to get new Achievements and Trophies and complete the trilogy that Rocksteady created. Buy it.
Robin: Son of Batman (Writer: Pat Gleason/Artist: Various/Colorist: Various)
The biological son of Bruce Wayne has a lot to make up for after his time in the League of Shadows. That would be difficult in and of itself, but then he has to fight demons, and gods, and then his parents get sucked into this whole affair... yeah. It's a rough life for Damian, but the short-lived series makes a good case for why he considers himself to be the best Robin. Buy it.
The Flash Socks
Have you ever wanted to feel as fast as DC's Scarlet Speedster? These socks will certainly help you feel like the Fastest Person Alive, though don't expect to run into another multiverse while wearing them. Maybe. Buy it.
Black Canary (Writer: Brendan Fletcher/Artist: Various/Colorist: Various)
Dinah Lance as a rock star feels like one of those concepts that should've existed, but didn't... until now. The year long series shows Dinah has the chops not just to kick ass and teach others how to do the same, but to sing without breaking everyone's ear drums. Buy it.
The Flash: Zoom (Writer: Robert Venditti & Van Jensen/Artist: Brett Booth/Colorist: Norm Rapmund)
Barry Allen has always been haunted by the death of his mother. It's why he wanted to work in law enforcement, to prove his father's innocence. In this volume of The Flash, he finally gets around to it, but the path to getting there is more complicated than he could imagine, thanks to an enemy who's hated him in a future he can't even think of... Zoom. Buy it.
Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman (Writer/Artist/Colorist: Various)
The anthology series centered on DC's leading lady continues with a rotating cast of artists, writers, and colorists. Whether it's fighting against a villain in front of high schoolers or working with Poison Ivy, Diana always finds a way to do the right thing and become a symbol of hope. Buy it.
Captain Cold Replica Gun
If you watch The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow, you likely love Captain Cold. Thankfully, the replica of his Cold Gun will make you feel just like he does: cool, confident, and cold as ice. Buy it.
Robin War (Writer: Various/Artist: Various/Colorist: Various)
The title of Robin has passed on to a new generation of heroes that have co-opted it for their own movement, and that's made some parties unhappy. Unfortunately, those same parties are immortal killers who want to bring the Robins down, and also all of Gotham as well. If you missed out on the small scale crossover series, picking it up as one collection is certainly the right way to go. Buy it.
The Omega Men (Writer: Tom King/Artist: Barnaby Bagenda/Colorist: Romulo Fajardo Jr.)
Kyle Rayner is dead, killed by a group of intergalactic terrorists known only as the Omega Men. Or rather, that's just part of the story in this excellently told sci-fi saga and political thriller. Much like with Tom King's work on The Vision, there's a clear sense of something bad about to happen through each page, and it's just as hard to put down. Buy it.
Midnighter (Writer: Steve Orlando/Artist: Various/Colorist: Romulo Fajardo Jr.)
He's out, he's proud, and ready to bust some heads in creatively violent ways. The anti-hero with a hard heart of gold is dealing with uncovering his past and a somewhat rocky love life to say the least, but he's still devoted to keeping the world safe from threats it couldn't imagine. Buy it.
Gotham Academy: Yearbook (Writer: Various/Artist: Various/Colorist: Various)
The mystery of Gotham Academy is still important for our young kids, but that doesn't mean they don't have adventures outside of that. The appropriately named "Yearbook" arc features a rotating list of creatives who fill in the gap of what Olive, Maps, and the others do when we don't read about their adventures. Buy it.
Batman v Superman: Wonder Woman Statue
Wonder Woman is the high point of Batman v Superman for a lot of moviegoers, and you can now own her in all her glory right on your dresser. Sadly, it doesn't come with her guitar theme, but it's still worth buying. Buy it.
