Courteney Cox Reveals that Scream 6 Is a Thing, Set to Start Filming in June
The Scream horror series has been going strong since the 90s, successfully subverting horror movie tropes that had gotten stale by that time. The series saw the release of a fifth installment last year, which performed really well at the box office so it should come as no surprise to hear that a sixth movie is already in the works.
As reported by Cinema Blend, Courteney Cox, who plays Gale Weathers in the series, stated in an interview with Variety that she had just gotten the script for the sixth movie. She goes on to state that filming is set to start this June in Canada.
It’s unclear whether other series veterans like Neve Campbell, who plays protagonist Sidney, will be returning, though it’s likely that we’ll see plenty of young, new faces join the franchise.
