The Shining

The Shining Fan Made an Amazing Wendy Torrance Puppet

Despite the fact that it came out over four decades ago, The Shining still holds up as one of the best horror films ever made. And while a lot of that is thanks to great writing and cinematography, the movie wouldn’t have been nearly as successful if it weren’t for the amazing performances of its cast.

Shelley Duvall as Wendy Torrance deserves special praise, as her performance, especially when confronted by Jack, is marvelous. To commemorate her character, animator Adeena Grubb recently created an amazing puppet that looks like something out of Coraline.

As you can see in the post above to the Horror subreddit, the Wendy Torrance doll that Grubb created is very detailed, featuring a magnetic mouth, worn fingers, and a wedding ring. You can see even more detail of the doll by heading over to her Instagram page.

One look at her social media and you’ll likely find another amazing piece of silicon puppetry you enjoy, including Chihiro from Spirited Away and plenty of personal creations. You can also check out the animation studio that she is an Animation Director at, titled AndyandAdenna, right here.
