Genshin Impact: How to Get the Portable Waypoint

There are tons of fast travel points scattered all over the world of Teyvat, but there are a few areas in the game that are just a little harder to reach and may require you to run around a little on foot in order to get there. To cut down traveling time, Genshin Impact provides players with a tool that can help, even if it does have its drawbacks. Here’s how to get the Portable Waypoint in Genshin Impact.

Getting the Portable Waypoint in Genshin Impact

First off, the Portable Waypoint is a reward you can get by increasing your reputation rank in Mondstadt; it won’t work in any of the other major cities.

By doing quests and other activities in the Mondstadt region, you can increase your rank slowly and earn rewards that way. Talk to the NPC in the back alley of Mondstadt to check your rank progress, and you can also claim your rewards from them. To unlock the Portable Waypoint blueprint, you need to reach rank 6 in Mondstadt.

You’ll also need the following materials to craft it:

  • Dead Ley Line Branch
  • 2 Luminescent Spines
  • 5 Crystal Chunks

Bring the materials to the blacksmith and you’ll be able to forge a Portable Waypoint.

How to Use the Portable Waypoint

Next, simply select the Waypoint from your gadgets tab in the inventory, then place it down anywhere you want in the world. The Waypoint will remain there for seven days before expiring, and if you try placing another one down, the old one will disappear.

This means that you need to be somewhat conscientious about where you’re placing it. It’s recommended that you place it in an area where you’re able to easily reach materials that you want to farm for a character at that point in time, then change its placement when you’re done.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Portable Waypoint in Genshin Impact. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
