MCU Phase 4 Announcements
WandaVision is a wacky new Disney+ series that will officially kick off Phase 4 of the MCU. It stars Scarlet Witch and Vision as they try to live in peace in Westview’s suburbs after the terrible events of Avengers Endgame.
It’ll consist of six episodes and will premiere on Disney+ on Jan. 15, 2021.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
MCU Phase 4 Announcements
Taking place after the events of Endgame, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will focus on Sam Wilson and Bucky as they work together to take down some bad guys and test their abilities in an exciting new adventure.
This mini-series will have six episodes and will premiere on Mar. 19 on Disney+.
Loki
The upcoming six-episode series will premiere on Disney+ in May of 2021 and stars Loki, Thor’s brother. It takes place after the events of Avengers Endgame in an alternate universe where Loki gets away with stealing the Tesseract, but he ends up in even more trouble.
What If…?
MCU Phase 4 Announcements
We got our first look at Marvel’s upcoming animated series ‘What If…?’, which is planned to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in summer 2021. It focuses on stories that aren’t canon to the Marvel cinematic universe that could’ve happened due to alternate realities and dimensions.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
We still don’t have an official trailer just yet for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but we know that it’s premiering in theaters on July 9, 2021.
Ms. Marvel
MCU Phase 4 Announcements
Ms. Marvel is getting her own Disney+ series, and it will star Iman Vellani as the main character. Marvel released a short sizzle trailer that gives us a closer look at how the series will explore Kamala Khan as she comes to terms with her new powers while also dealing with growing up.
The show will premiere on Disney+ in late 2021.
Captain Marvel 2
Disney confirmed that Brie Larson would return as Captain Marvel for her second standalone film that will premiere in theaters on Nov. 11, 2022. It’s also worth noting that Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau will be joining the cast.
Fantastic Four
Not much is known about the next Fantastic Four reboot, but it will be directed by Jon Watts, who also worked on the recent MCU Spider-Man films. He’s also set to direct Spider-Man 3, which is set to premiere next year.
Ant-Man and the Wasp 3
We’re getting another Ant-Man film titled Quantumania, which will see the return of Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Evangeline Lilly, and there are some new cast members as well. Kathryn Newton will play Cassie Lang, and Jonathan Majors will play Kang the Conqueror.
Black Panther 2
Disney has announced that they will not recast T’Challa in Black Panther following the death of Chadwick Boseman earlier this year. Instead, Black Panther 2, set to premiere on July 8, 2022, will focus on Wakanda and tell stories about the characters introduced in the first film.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on May 6, 2022, and it’s been revealed that Christian Bale will join the cast as Gorr the God Butcher.
I Am Groot
The adorable tree creature from Guardians of the Galaxy is getting his own series of shorts on Disney+ that will feature “several new and unusual characters.” No release date has been revealed just yet.
The Guardians Special
James Gunn is back to write and direct this upcoming holiday special for The Guardians of the Galaxy. But the bad news is that it won’t be coming out until sometime in 2022.
Armor Wars
Don Cheadle is coming back as War Machine in Armor Wars, an upcoming Disney+ series that about what happens when Tony Stark’s machines get out of control. No release window just yet for this one.
Secret Invasion
In Secret Invasion, yet another live-action Disney+ series, Samuel L. Jackson will return to the MCU to play Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel returns as Skrull Talos.
Ironheart
Ironheart is a brand-new series coming to Disney+ that will star Dominique Thorn as the genius inventor, Riri Williams. The show is about her creating one of the most advanced suits of armor that the world has ever seen.
Doctor Strange 2
Benedict Cumberbatch is getting another standalone Doctor Strange film that will premiere on Mar. 25, 2022. Sam Raimi will direct doctor Strange In the Multitude of Madness, and the film will have plot threads connected to ‘Spider-Man 3’ and WandaVision.
