Nintendo has just released the brand new Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield, and it’s a pretty sizable expansion with a new area to explore, and even more battles to get into. Should You Choose Bulbasaur or Squirtle in Pokemon Isle of Armor?

Early on in the Isle of Armor expansion, when you arrive at the Dojo, you’ll be tasked with finding and bringing back a few uniform pieces to get either Bulbasaur or Squirtle on your team. You can only choose one of the two, so you’ll want to make sure you’re making the best decision for yourself.

First off, both starter Pokemon are completely fine and viable for the rest of the playthrough. However, depending on whether you’re playing through Sword or Shield, you might want to give some consideration to which Pokemon you pick.

For instance, Bulbasaur is a good pick for Sword players, as you’ll be going up against Water-type challenges later on, and this would be a good Pokemon to have. On the other hand, Squirtle is a good pick for Shield players, as you’ll be going up against Flying-type challenges, and Bulbasaur would be weak to those.

Either way, this isn’t a make-or-break decision and you can definitely still get through either version of the game with either Pokemon. Both will start at level 5 when they join your team, and you can feel free to just pick whichever one you prefer as well.

That’s all you need to know about whether you should choose Bulbasaur or Squirtle in Pokemon Isle of Armor. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
