How to Start Trader Specialist Roles in Red Dead Online

After you’ve successfully installed the latest update, which runs about 11.8 gigabytes, you’ll gain three new yellow markers on your map you can visit.

Each one is tied to a different Specialist Role’s mission line, and needs to be visited before the mission lines will become available to you.

For the Trader Specialist Role, you’ll want to travel to the marker at the post office nearest to you. Once you’ve arrived, head inside and speak to the clerk to pick up a letter that’s been sent to you from Cripps.

Examine the letter, and you’ll learn Cripps has a new business opportunity he’d like to discuss with you, and to meet him at the general store in Armadillo.

From there, head to Armadillo and speak to Cripps.

He’ll tell you of his plan to found a new trading business focused on selling and trading in animal skins, pelts, and furs. He’ll ask for your help in financing it through the purchase of a Butcher’s Table.

PlayStation 4 players can obtain the Butcher’s table free of charge until Oct. 14 as a limited promotion for the new content. Otherwise, this will cost you a small sum of Red Dead Online dollars.

From there, you’ll be able to take part in Trader Specialist Role missions at your leisure, collecting animal skins and products that can be sold to buy improvements for your business and expand its scope.

So, to summarize:

  1. Download the latest update for Red Dead Online.

It’ll take about 11.8 GB of storage space.

  2. Enter Red Dead Online and Head to the nearest post office.

You’ll find a letter from Cripps inviting you to join a new business venture.

  3. Head to Armadillo and speak with Cripps

He’ll ask for your help buying a butcher’s table to get his new business off the ground.

  4. Purchase the Butcher’s Table

This will be free of charge for PlayStation 4 players until Oct. 14. Otherwise, it’ll cost you a small sum of Red Dead Online dollars.
