Who Got Voted Off Tonight in Survivor 38: Edge of Extinction 2019 Episode 11

While Rick was painted as the number one target at camp, unfortunately it was Ron Clark who got voted off tonight in Survivor 38.

The Loved Ones Reward Challenge

We’ve finally reached that point in the season where players get to compete for a chance to spend time with their loved ones. This week, the reward challenge was a throwback to the same loved ones challenge we saw in season 20, Heroes vs. Villains. Players had to scoop buckets of water and throw them to their loved ones, who then had to pour the water into a separate bucket to raise a flag.

It was a pretty close challenge, but in the end, Ron won it, and decided to take Julie and Gavin with him to solidify their alliance together.

Ron’s plan was to make sure both his allies were tight with him, and that they’d work together through to the end.

Meanwhile, Ron also made sure to try to make amends with Rick, whom he blindsided with the Wardog vote at last tribal council. Back before the merge, Ron had found an advantage menu that gave him the option of obtaining a hidden immunity idol. However, the menu expired before he actually used it, and Ron decided to give it to Rick in an attempt to rebuild trust.

This gave Rick a bit of hope that maybe he could still work with Ron and Julie.

Another Throwback Challenge in Survivor 38

This week, the immunity challenge in Survivor 38 was yet another callback to a previous season. The challenge tasked the castaways with balancing on very tiny footholds for as long as possible. The challenge was originally played in Tocantins, and was played again in Heroes vs. Villains.

Rick was the first one out, and Ron followed soon after. Rick knew that everyone was after him, especially after he caught Aurora looking through his bag at camp. Ron spoke with Rick, and learned that he planned on playing the advantage menu and putting his vote on Aurora to get her out.

Unbeknownst to Ron, though, Rick did indeed manage to find a hidden immunity idol back at camp, but planned to play the advantage menu first to see if he could really trust Ron and Julie.

Back at camp, Ron and Julie touched base with Rick yet again to confirm that he was voting for Aurora. Both Ron and Julie tried to make him feel somewhat secure, but later decided they were gonna vote for Rick anyway.

At the same time, Victoria and Lauren felt like they were on the outs because Ron hadn’t picked them for the loved ones reward. Lauren hasn’t had a good feeling about Ron this entire time, so she and Victoria decided that they would place their votes on Ron, just in case Rick had an idol and couldn’t be voted out.

They roped Aurora in on this plan as well, and she was able to get Gavin onboard by giving him her extra vote.

Then, at tribal council, it was made fairly obvious that Rick was going to get votes. He tried to play the advantage menu, but was told that it was expired. Rick then pulled out the immunity idol and played it for himself, which surprised Ron and Julie, but neither of them were worried since they figured the votes would still go to Aurora.

However, unfortunately for Ron, the votes weren’t in his favor. The Gavin-Aurora-Victoria-Lauren alliance decided to split their votes between Ron and Rick, with Gavin and Lauren voting for Ron along with Aurora’s extra vote, while Aurora and Victoria put their votes on Rick. Ron and Julie also had their votes on Rick, while Rick himself voted for Aurora.

With the immunity idol, all of the votes for Rick didn’t count, and Ron ended up with three votes being enough to get him out.
