Sony Entertainment and Marvel Studios have released a brand-new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home that reveals the impact of major plot points from the most recent Marvel film, Avengers: Endgame.
If you’ve yet to watch Avengers: Endgame in its entirety, we highly recommend staying away from this article as we will be going into major spoiler territory –proceed with caution.
Spider-Man Is Still Grieving
The new trailer for Far From Home kicks things right off with Peter Parker still grieving over the death of Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame. Earlier trailers for Far From Home hid this plot point, until now, but now that most fans have seen the film, the whole of Far From Home can now be talked about.
Peter Parker really misses Tony Stark, as he was sort of a father figure to him, acting as a mentor and the man who brought him into the Avengers crew. We had no idea that his death would play a pivotal role in the plot of this film, but now that we know what we’re going into, we expect to cry just as much as we did during Endgame.
We’re not sure how much time has passed since Thanos was stopped (once again) and everyone was brought back to life after the snap, but Peter is still not over the whole situation and ultimately plans on forgetting all about that by going on a school trip to Europe… but our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man isn’t getting away that easily.
There Are Multiverses in the MCU Now
After all of the time-traveling and Infinity Gauntlet snapping action that occurred during Avengers: Endgame, there was bound to be alternate dimensions and universes that cropped up, simply because of all of the changes that were made.
Captain America stayed back in time to be with Peggy, Loki took the Tesseract in a different scene, and somehow, even Mysterio managed to come into Spider-Man’s world thanks to a tear in the dimension due to the snap.
While Nick Fury is explaining the alternative dimension to Peter, he asks the question that we all need answers to: “Are you saying there’s a multiverse?”
If this is the case, then Far From Home is the first film to tackle one of the many alternate dimensions that are out there now. Due to this idea, it opens up the door for other upcoming MCU films to tackle a similar narrative.
This idea of “multiverses” has since been done in the Marvel comics, but bringing it to the cinematic universe would be interesting to say the least.
Can Spider-Man Trust Mysterio?
Mysterio (Quentin Beck) and Spider-Man have been long-time rivals throughout the Marvel comics, but this is the first time that we see this “villain” on the big screen as part of the MCU.
Somehow, Mysterio gets into contact with Nick Fury, and the truth comes out that Mysterio is from an alternate version of Earth, a version that came about due to the snap.
Mysterio needs help defeating several creatures that seem to resemble the Elementals, but something is very off. Mysterio appears to be some sort of hero during this trailer for Far From Home, but if you know anything about Mr. Beck, he’s a master of deception and illusions, making people believe in false ideas.
Could we see Mysterio eventually tricking Spider-Man into doing something bad? Or perhaps Mysterio is actually being a good guy this time around… not sure about all of that, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. But for now, I don’t trust this guy one bit –if he does anything to our favorite spider boy, all hell will break loose.
Spider-Man’s Stealth Suit
We caught our first glimpse of the all-too-famous stealth suit in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, but in this new one, we get to see even more of the suit in action.
If you’ve watched Into the Spiderverse, then this suit might look familiar as it was sort of worn by Spider-Man Noir, the version of Spider-Man that comes from Earth-90214.
This time though, the suit is lacking the goggles and the detective-esque hat worn by Noir in the film. It seems that Spider-Man will have to sneak his way around some of these elemental monsters or might just have to deal with a new villain that we’ve yet to see in the trailers.
According to Fandom, the Stealth Suit was created to protect Spidey from supersonic attacks in the comics. The unique suit can also mend itself and protect the wearer from fire.
We’re thinking that Peter will be using this suit to fight off the fire elemental monster, but that’s just a hunch; but either way, this Stealth Suit seems to play a huge role in Far From Home –for whatever reason.
MJ Knows Peter’s Secret
In the new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, we get to see a major plot point occur that maybe should have been left out of it, just so there are more surprises to be had in the film. Anyway, what we’re speaking of is M.J.’s knowledge of Peter Parker’s alter-ego, Spider-Man.
Michelle seems to know all about Peter’s “secret” superhero life and from how she tells him, it didn’t really surprise her all too much, telling Peter that it as pretty obvious from the start.
Now, the M.J. that we have here in this new series of Spider-Man films isn’t the Mary Jane from the comic, but you can’t deny that there’s just a little bit of chemistry between Michelle and Peter, even though she might not feel the same way about Peter.
With her possibly knowing all of Parker’s secrets, could this potentially turn into a Spider-Woman or Spider-Girl situation, with Peter taking M.J. under his wing as an accomplice?
We don’t see M.J. being super excited about Peter being a superhero, but who knows? Maybe this can turn into a budding work relationship between the two of them. I for one would love to see M.J. kicking butt and taking names in the next Spider-Man film, or possibly starring in her own standalone movie.

Peter Parker Sports Tony’s Shades
And the last little easter egg that we noticed in the trailer for Far From Home, is a quick glance at Peter Parker wearing a pair of Tony Stark’s glasses, glasses that he was wearing during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
Since Peter Parker is still a bit down over the death of Tony, he probably keeps these glasses close to him to remember Tony and everything that he’s done for Peter.
We only get to see one shot of him wearing the same exact pair of glasses, but we’re sure that there will be an explanation once we get to see the film later this summer.
