Fortnite Season 5 Is Almost Here, Let’s Try and Predict Its Theme

Things could go even further than just simply having the map littered with Wild West objects, and in a way, it doesn’t make complete sense for Season 5 to solely focus on this theme. Especially when you factor in some more of the teases, including the Kitsune Mask image (above) released just today.

For those unaware of the significance of the Kitsune Mask, Japanese folklore tells that Kitsune were the bearers of incredible supernatural powers, including the ability to bend time and space, drive people mad, or take fantastic shapes such as a second moon in the sky. Definitely sounds like the kind of beings capable of saving Tilted Towers from a rocket, tearing a giant time shift portal thing in the sky, and then dumping random items about the map.

If Kitsune do have something to do with what’s going on in Fortnite Season 5, chances are we wouldn’t just be sticking to a Wild West time period or theme. Instead, it’s more likely that Season 5 could be a mishmash of historical time periods, bringing iconic landmarks, items, or mythic abilities to the map.

That’d also explain the anchor included in that datamined image that showed the Stagecoach. We’re not just going to the Wild West time period, but maybe the golden age of piracy too. And don’t forget that giant dinosaur footprint found right at the start of Season 4, too.
