All New Video Game Releases for August 2018

The summer is coming to a close and the busy fall months are just a few weeks away. The annual sports games and Insomniac’s Spider-Man kick off the relentless schedule of big releases at the end of August and beginning of September. Before then, however, there are still a few games to look forward to. They’re not on the same scale as the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 76 that we’ll see before the year’s out, but they’re exciting nonetheless. Here are all the video games that are due to release in August 2018:

All Video Game Releases August 2018

August is the beginning of an exciting time for fans of sports games. Seemingly releasing earlier and earlier each year, Madden NFL 19 releases on Aug. 10, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 (PES 2019) arrives on Aug. 28 in order to get out in front of FIFA 19. It’ll be interesting to see how Madden improves on the success of last year’s iteration, and Konami needs to continue to put the pressure on EA Sports’ juggernaut soccer game.

Elsewhere, the series that made Telltale Games as popular as it is today will begin its final season this month. Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season will bring Clementine’s story to a close, and it’s sure to be an emotional one. August 2018 also sees a couple more Yakuza games release, in the form on Yakuza 0 on PC and Kiwami 2 on PlayStation 4.

The final games of note are a couple of sequels to popular indie games. Guacamelee 2 finally arrives on PS4 and PC on Aug. 21, giving players a chance to don the luchador mask once again in Drinkbox’s metroidvania title. If you’re looking for some chaotic multiplayer fun, however, then Overcooked 2 offers that in spades. You’ll be trying to make burgers and sushi, but you’ll be spending most of your time shouting at your partner. It’s great fun, though. Here are all the video game releases for August 2018:
