PS PLUS FREE GAMES FOR JANUARY 2018

2018 is at our doorstep folks, and with it a whole new year of free games from Sony’s online PS Plus subscription for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita owners. Although we don’t know for sure what games will be offered to players in January 2018 at this moment, we have some guesses at what might be included on that list.

Every month there is usually one bigger game headlining the rest. For example this time last year the headliner for January 2017’s PS Plus game’s list was Day of The Tentacle Remastered for PS4 (with cross-buy on PS Vita also included). Fans of the 1993 original game could replay the hand-illustrated classic with improved graphics on their newest console for the first time.

For next month, or at least sometime very soon, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag make it to players via a PS Plus subscription. Originally releasing back in October 2013, the sixth addition to the major mainline installment in Assassin’s Creed series took to the Seven Seas following pirate protagonist Edward Kenway. It released for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U in October, with a next gen release on Ps4, Xbox One, and PC occurring a month later in November 2013.

Black Flag has never been included in a PS Plus lineup, but just back in August 2017 its standalone expansion Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry made it to players for free alongside Just Cause 3 the same month. Sony hasn’t been shy in including larger AAA games with PS Plus lately either, with critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain being offered for free back in October 2017. Offering the full Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag game would be a great way for Sony to kick off the new year on PS Plus.
