How to Beat the Green Broodal Boss in Super Mario Odyssey

Recommended Videos

The Broodals will introduce themselves in the first area of Super Mario Odyssey as the wedding planners for Peach and Bowser. The Green Broodal itself will also serve as the first official boss of the game, though it shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for you.

To start, the Green Broodal wears a total of three top hats on its head in Super Mario Odyssey. Your job is to knock them all off by hitting it repeatedly with Cappy. Whenever you knock off the hat, it’ll start homing around the arena, trying to hit Mario. Dodge the hat attacks as you continue to hit the Green Broodal. Once all three hats are off, the Green Broodal will be stunned for a few seconds, and you’ll need to jump directly on top of its head to deal damage and earn a bunch of coins.

After that, the Broodal will recover and will summon all three hats back to its head again. All you have to do is repeat the process a couple more times, jump on its head when it’s stunned, and your first boss battle in Super Mario Odyssey will be over before you know it.
