What Persona 5’s Canon Main Character Is Called

Recommended Videos

Right near the start of Persona 5, your character will be asked what their name is. While you can always opt to enter your own name or something entirely made up, some players might want to use the canon main character name. Unfortunately, this isn’t just entered in the name entry field by default, so you may be unsure what the canon main character is called. Let us help you out with that.

Joining Persona 3’s Minato Arisato and Persona 4’s Souji Seta, the canon main character in Persona 5 is called Akira Kurusu. While you’re very rarely called by your actual name in Persona 5, with the characters often opting to call you Trickster, Inmate, Joke, or Prisoner, it is uttered every once in a while. If you’re looking for a true canon experience with a name that sounds legitimately Japanese, then this is the name you’ll want to go ahead and call the main character.

Calling your character won’t make any changes to the gameplay, though, so if you want to go with a made-up name, you won’t be missing out on anything.
