Gears of War 4 will be holding a Horde event this weekend featuring a twist on the cooperative gameplay mode, a new Gear pack, double class XP, and more, developer The Coalition announced today.
The Feral Horde event playlist is a variant of the regular mode with different types of enemies such as “Explosive Trackers, Swarm Grenadiers, DR-1s, Dropshot Scions, and more.” The playlist begins “Friday morning (PT)” and only offers the Clocktower map on hardcore difficulty. Double XP for all Horde classes will be activated this weekend for the event, public, and private Horde modes.
Players can earn special character skins for completing waves in the Feral Horde playlist by registering their gamertag at the official event website. The tiger, cheetah, and leopard skins can be earned by completing 50, 100, and 200 waves, respectively. The event ends Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. PT, and rewards will be given by March 31.
The Feral Horde Gear pack can be purchased from the in-game store for 400 credits beginning tomorrow through the weekend. It contains two Feral weapon skin sets and a “greatly increased chance to earn Epic Horde Skills compared to standard Horde Booster Gear Packs.”
Gears of War 4 recently finished its Valentine’s Day event, which added two new maps to multiplayer alongside spawn changes to the Guardian playlist. The developer also teased more class skills, achievements, and difficulty modes would be coming to Horde and Campaign modes this Summer.
