NieR: Automata’s Japanese Box Art Looks Absolutely Gorgeous

Those sweet designs.

Square Enix and Sony have just unveiled the PS4 box art for NieR: Automata, the upcoming action RPG from Yoko Taro and Platinum Games. In addition to that, players who purchase the game from the Japanese PlayStation Store will also get a nice bonus in the form of a PlayStation-shaped pod that they can deploy in the game. You can check out the art down below, as well as some images of the Japanese Black Box Set and the pod in the gallery.

The box art for the Japanese release looks fantastic, thanks to illustrator Akihiko Yoshida’s beautiful art designs. The art features the protagonist Type B holding the boy android Type S in her arms. Standing behind her is the female android Type A. Yeah, the names are gonna get real confusing real fast.

NieR: Automata is the follow-up to the JRPG NiER, which originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Automata is sest to be released for the PS4 and PC in early 2017.
