Judging by the footage revealed so far, Dead Rising 4 will be even crazier than its predecessors when it launches later this year. It should be no surprise then that the recently revealed pre-order bonuses for the Standard Edition are just as over the top as the game itself. Unfortunately, it seems like each store offers a certain exclusive item that can’t be acquired from other retailers, which may or may not lead to a bit of controversy further down the line.
Gamers thinking about pre-ordering Dead Rising 4 from the Microsoft Store will be happy to know that their copy of the game will include the X-Fists DLC, which consists of a pair of huge green fists that protagonist Frank West can attach to his EXO Suit and use to beat waves of zombies to a bloody pulp. GameStop, on the other hand, offers a very different bonus dubbed The Steampunk Snowman Helmet, a pretty self-explanatory item that serves as both a helmet and a weapon that shoots snowballs.
Best Buy is also offering a pre-order bonus inspired by the holiday season, however, their item is meant for zombies with a bit of a sweet tooth and goes by the name of Candy Cane Crossbow. Last but not least, pre-ordering Dead Rising 4 from Amazon will grant players a vehicle known as the Slicecycle, which is essentially just a motorcycle with two chainsaws attached to it. Perhaps a bit unimaginative but certainly very effective at slaying zombies.
Dead Rising 4 will be available for Xbox One and Windows 10 starting with December 6th.
