Dark Souls III’s Abyss Watchers Have Been Beaten With a DDR Pad

Dancing all the way to victory.

A few weeks ago we reported that the Twitch streamer Rudeism had beaten Dark Souls 3 first boss fight with a DDR pad. During a recent birthday stream, he managed to top his previous feat by beating the Abyss Watchers using the same method.

Throughout the stream, Rudeism had footage of himself using the DDR pad on the top right-hand corner of the screen. In order to do this unique challenge, Rudeism had to map the PS4 controller’s directional buttons to the main arrows on the mat, and the other necessary buttons are mapped on the diagonal sides.

This unique way of playing Dark Souls 3 clearly presented Rudeism with a ton of new problems, though. By the time he reached the Abyss Watchers, he had died 289 times. However, despite these challenges and multiple new deaths, he beat the Abyss Watchers after nearly three hours of dancing on the DDR pad.

Rudeism isn’t the first person to play a Souls game with a weird control system as a YouTuber namedgbbearzly beat Dark Souls 1 with a Guitar Hero guitar.
