Soul Calibur 6 Announced at The Game Awards, Coming Next Year

Soul Calibur 6 was recently announced at The Game Awards 2017 following years of teasing. Like with Tekken 7, the game will be made with Unreal Engine 4, while Motohiro Okubo will act as the producer.

They released a short teaser featuring several returning fighters in the series. Similarly, it also seems like the game will have another crossover fighter or a possible new character. The game is slated to release next year on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, just in time for the series’ 20th anniversary.

The series first released back in 1998 on the arcade before being ported over to the Dreamcast. The latest entry, Soul Calibur 5, launched way back in 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Bandai Namco has since then been placing more focus on their other game franchises, specifically Tekken.
