Changing Ally Techniques – Final Fantasy XV

Recommended Videos

As you gain more AP in the game, you’ll be able to unlock special techniques for your allies to use. When in battle, once your tech bar has filled up, you’ll be able to hold down the L1 button to see a list of available ally techniques you can employ. At the start of the game, your only available techniques will be Tempest, Piercer, and Mark. However, you can use AP to unlock new techniques through the Ascension grid.

Simply bring up your main menu and access the Ascension grid, then spend some AP learning new techniques for your allies under the Teamwork tab. Once you’ve purchased a few new techniques for your allies, you’ll be able to equip them. Bring up your main menu again, and select the Gear option. The technique bar is right at the top, so just select that, and you’ll be able to choose from a list of techniques you’ve already unlocked for that particular character. Once that’s done, you can use those techniques the next time you get into a fight. And that’s all you need to know about changing ally techniques.

If you need help using these techniques in battle, check our guide over here.
