Released in 2010, Mas Effect 2 was one of the first games to receive over one hundred nominations. Mass Effect 2 followed the journey of Commander Shepard who was in the middle of an intergalactic war between humanity and the insectoid species, the Collectors. With a deep decision based system, and great RPG elements, it is no surprise that Mass Effect 2 went on to winning the amount of awards that it did.

The game was nominated for 159 awards, of which it won 68 of them. Some of these include Game of the Year across various websites like Eurogamer and IGN, and it even won the Outstanding Achievement in Story at the 14th Annual D.I.C.E Awards. Mass Effect 2 set the bar for intergalactic storytelling for years to come
