Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was an action-packed Metal Gear Solid spin-off that stars the cybernetic ninja, Raiden, as he protects a prime minister from deadly foes. Instead of focusing on the stealth that the MGS series is known for, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was all about using Raiden’s sword and countering attacks with a really cool slicing mechanic.
You can slice watermelons with ease which is something that you can do in the opening tutorial and it was all such a departure for the series but it still ended up being a very solid action game from Platinum.
The bosses were epic, the soundtrack was a bop, and it gave us a deeper look into one of the coolest side characters from Kojima’s convoluted franchise.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was released in 2013 and since then, it hasn’t really come over to modern consoles, besides popping up on PC a year after it originally launched and being backwards compatible on Xbox One.
A remastered port being announced for at least the PS4 would be welcomed with open arms so that folks like myself can experience this incredible action game once again or for those that never got the chance to play it; maybe the team can even throw in a physical soundtrack with the re-release because it goes hard!
