PS Plus Free Games Predictions

Dark Souls Remastered

It’s almost that time for Sony to announce what free games will be offered on PS Plus for the very first month of 2021. While we wait for the offical reveal, we have a few PS Plus predictions as to what games will be included for fun in the meantime.

For the current month of December 2020, the PS Plus free games were Just Cause 4, Rocket Arena, and Worms Rumble. All three games will continue to be free to download for PS Plus subscribers until Jan. 4.

Usually a larger game headlines the list, offering some bang for your buck so to speak, with last month’s being Just Cause 4. For January 2021 we suspect Dark Souls: Remastered would be a perfect AAA inclusion for PS Plus predictions.

Firstly, Sony has included FromSoftware games on PS Plus in the past, and seeing which developers have previously worked with Sony is usually indicative of what other games we will see in the future. For example, in March 2018 PS Plus included Bloodborne and way back in April 2013 Demon’s Souls was offered as well.

It’s surprising a Dark Souls game has yet to be offered on PS Plus, and the 2018 remaster of the original 2011 Dark Souls game would be a great place to start.

This would coincide nicely with the recent release of the Demon’s Souls remaster as well which released on the PS5 alongside the console on Nov. 12.

The Smaller Game – Untitled Goose Game

PS Plus Free Games Predictions

After the larger AAA game, usually a smaller indie title is included every month on PS Plus as well.

For our January 2021, we would love to see super-popular indie title Untitled Goose Game from developer House House show up for free.

Only so many indies games a year reach the king of relevance that Untitled Goose Game was able to achieve. Originally released in September 2019 for PC and Nintendo Switch, and came out three months later in December 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One and received immense praise for its charming artstyle and angry-goose fueled puzzles.

Sony loves to snag those uber-popular indies and offer them on PS Plus at least year out from their original release, so it’s about that time for Untitled Goose Game to start being a possible contender if not next month then sometime soon.

Make sure to check back in the next week or so for the offical list from Sony to see what free PS Plus games will be included for PS4 and PS5 consoles at the start of the new year, and to see if any of our PS Plus predictions were correct.
