The Four Corners Challenge
We’ve all been there. You’ve just won three games in a row with your squad and things are beginning to get a little stale. Or, you’re just getting tired of the same-old-same-old when it comes to playing with your friends. Well, there’s a way you can still have some fun in Fortnite’s squads mode which also adds a good bit of challenge to proceedings, too.
The Four Corners challenge, as you may have guessed, tasks each member of your squad in Fortnite to land in one corner of the map. Once you’ve landed, it’s down to you all to communicate, figure out a place to meet in the center of the map, and survive the journey there.
Why’s it fun? Well, you’re going to be taking on potential teams of four on your own. Plus, it’s always a good laugh to hear your teammates screaming hysterically as they’re chased down by a group of Cuddle Team leaders wielding shotguns, don’t you agree?
This’ll put your building and reaction skills to the test, and also makes for quite a fun spectator sport if you or another member of your team happens to go down early.
If you’re looking for a slight modification on this challenge, you can always agree to land at four separate named locales a fair distance from one another and once again regroup in the center.
Kills Competitions
This is one of the best ways to settle scores in Fortnite right now. Whether you’re playing in Duos or Squads, you can do this, but keep in mind that the usual way you’ll see people doing this challenge online is in Squads.
Simply put, if you’re in Squads, you divide up into teams of two and it’s then down to your team to get more kills than the other team. You can kill steal and take the loot from another team’s kill, but most popular YouTubers and streamers who have taken part in Keemstar’s Fortnite Friday UMG tournament opt to try and keep the distance from their competition.
This challenge normally takes place over two games, with the team who gets the most kills in total over both matches winning the round. The only rule you do need to keep in mind is you cannot sabotage the other team. You cannot destroy any bases, make them fall, or do anything that may result in them meeting an untimely death.
It’s the perfect Fortnite challenge for finally seeing who’s the MVP of your squad, and who the dead weight is.
No Building
Fortnite’s defining feature is without a doubt its building. It’s what separates it from other battle royale games like PUBG, Realm Royale, and others smaller titles. However, once you’ve mastered building in Fortnite, it makes taking down less experienced players far easier, and generally makes tough scenarios that little bit easier to handle and survive.
So what could be more fun than removing your ability to build and seeing how you cope? You can do this in any of the game modes, as long as you and the rest of your team all agree to stick to the rules. You cannot build any tiles yourself, but you’re free to climb the buildings, ramps, and structures of your opponents.
Is this going to be hard as all hell? Absolutely. We’d probably only recommend trying this out if you’re a serious veteran of Fortnite… or you just never want to win a round again.
The Overwatch Fortnite Challenge
This one may be known by different names, but this is what we’ve seen it listed as when Terroriser, Daithi De Nogla, Wildcat, and other popular YouTubers and streamers took on the challenge. For this one, each member of your squad will fill a specific role or class that limits them to the weapon types they can use. The four roles used in the challenge linked above are:
- Close Range: Shotguns, SMGs, Remote Explosives
- Heavy: LMGs, Miniguns, Explosives, RPGs, Grenade Launchers
- Soldier: Assault Rifles, Hunting Rifles, Pistols, Hand Cannon
- Recon: Snipers
While someone playing the Close Range class cannot use a hunting rifle, they can pick one up to give to the Soldier in their squad. The most difficult part of this challenge is at the very start of a game, as there needs to be enough loot available for everyone to get a weapon to use where you’re landing, while also not being so busy that if you’re unlucky enough not to get a weapon you can use, you don’t get wrecked immediately. Plus, with four different roles to try out, there’s a good bit of replayability as you and your squad can switch between the different classes, too.
No Communication Challenge
We’re told time and time again that communication is key whenever you’re working as part of a team in something, and that doesn’t change when it comes to Fortnite. Whether you’re playing a Duo or Squad game, telling your teammates enemy locations is key, as is being able to request ammo, materials, or heals etc. So taking away your primary means of communication must be fun, right?
That’s right, you’re not allowed to talk to your teammates in this Fortnite challenge. You can use the map markers to at least help try and coordinate your movements around the map, and emotes can be used for just goofing around and celebrating.
There’s not really a whole lot else to this challenge, just keep quiet and go for the victory. It may not offer quite the same entertainment value as the others, what with the whole sitting in silence while playing with your friends, but it’ll definitely put your skills to the test.
