Gears of War 4 voice actors cast

Before we take a look at the voice actors cast, we need to mention that you’re going to come across some spoilers ahead as part of the cast list. If you want to enjoy a spoiler-free experience with Gears of War 4 we advise you turn back now.

Headlining our new squad is JD Fenix, son of Marcus Fenix and voiced by Liam McIntyre. McIntyre is best known for his roles in the TV series Spartacus as Spartacus himself, and Sotiris in the 2014 movie The Legend of Hercules.

Alongside JD is Kait Diaz, voiced by none other than Laura Bailey. You’ve most likely heard Bailey in about five other titles in the past few years with roles such as Nadine Ross in Uncharted 4, Fetch in Infamous: Second Son, and Olympia Vale in Halo 5 just to name a few. She’s also the voice of Catwoman in Telltale’s Batman series.

Bringing some comic relief to the squad is Del Walker who’s voiced by Eugene Byrd. Byrd hasn’t been in too many video games with his most recent credits being Battlefield Hardline and Kinect Sports: Season Two. Instead, you may notice Eugene as Wink from 8 Mile, or Rizzo from 1996 film, Sleepers.

There to provide some guidance to our new team is Marcus Fenix, the veteran Gears from the previous titles in the series. Though you may not know it, you’ve probably heard Marcus’ voice elsewhere. John DiMaggio is best known for his roles as Bender in Futurama, Jake in Adventure Time, and Beard Papa in Wreck-It Ralph. He also recently received a credit in the latest World of Warcraft expansion, too.

Keeping a watchful eye over Kait is Oscar. Voiced by Jimmy Smits, you may recognize his voice from Senator Bail Organa from Star Wars: Episode II and III, and Miguel Prado from the hit TV series Dexter. He’s also credited with the role of Bail Organa in the upcoming Rogue One movie.

The badass outsider Reyna is voiced by Justina Machado. Machado seems to have a preference for featuring in horror and thriller movies with her roles as Tanya in The Purge: Anarchy, Rachel in The Call, and Isabella Hudson in Final Destination 2 being her biggest credits. She’s also currently Penelope in the TV series One Day at a Time.

The First Minister of the Coalition of Ordered Governments known as Jinn is voiced by Angel Desai. Desai is best known for her roles as Vindy in Black Knight, Amanda in the 2003 movie Robot Stories, and Laura in 2005’s Heights.

Baird makes a brief cameo in Gears 4 and is voiced by his original voice actor, Fred Tatsciore. He also lends his vocals for the Deebees, the Swarm’s Speaker, and the Swarm themselves. Tatasciore is best known for his roles as Hulk, Black Bolt and Volstagg in the animated Avengers Assemble TV series. He’s also been credited for additional voices in the cast of Mafia III, Mighty No. 4 in Mighty No. 9, and Soldier: 76 in Overwatch just to name a few. He’s got quite the extensive list of credits.

Samantha also makes a brief voice actors cameo in Gears of War 4 to help out our new band of soldiers as they take on the Swarm threat. Voiced by Claudia Black, you may recognize her voice as Chloe Frazer’s from the Uncharted series, Morrigan in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Tess Everis in Destiny.

Cole Train’s back baby! Albeit only for a brief moment. Voiced by none other than Lester Speight, Cole continues to be the lovable character all Gears fans just love. Speight is best known for his voice actor roles as Eddie in 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Blue Latimore in Norbit, and Dr. Jonavon White in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.

The serious character of Victor Hoffman is actually voiced by one half of the comedy duo Mack & Jamie.  Alcroft is best known for his voice actors roles as Eli Wolstan in Eight Crazy Nights and Lateef, Cosmos and Kosoko in Spyro the Dragon. He’s also recently voiced Otto in Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode series.

Marcus’ right-hand man won’t be sticking around for any significant amount of time in Gears of War 4, but he is there. Dom Santiago is voiced by Carlos Ferro who surprisingly also voiced Leonardo da Vinci in Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood. He was also the voice of Michael Corleone in The Godfather II game from 2009.

Marcus’ love is another character from the series who makes a brief cameo role in Gears of War 4. Anya Stroud is voiced by Nan McNamara who has been the long-term voice actor for the character. She’s best known for her roles as Dr. Betty Ross in the 2006 animated movies Ultimate Avengers and its sequel. McNamara also has a number of credits for additional voices in video games such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Another well-known member of the voice acting cast in Gears of War 4 is Robin Atkin Downes, lending his talents to voice Minh Young Kim. Downes has recently played Angelo in the Suicide Squad movie, and has also voiced the Demon Voice in The Conjuring 2 and the vocals for the creature in Batman vs. Superman. He also voiced Finn and Sinjin in Fallout 4.

Yet another short cameo in Gears of War 4 comes in the form of Bernadette Mataki having previously featured in Gears of War 3. If she sounds a little familiar you may recognize her voice from voice actors jobs like sky-high city of Columbia in BioShock Infinite, or perhaps she looks familiar from her role as Nancy in the 1999 movie Dead End.

Rounding off the main cast of voice actors and characters is your new formidable enemy in the form of The Swarm. Though they rarely say much, their groans, screams and occasional words are all courtesy of Dee Bradley Baker with a little help from Fred Tatasciore. Baker is best known for voicing Klaus in American Dad, and the Clone Troopers in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
