Ramza’s strength comes in playing the role of a support character, as he’s not a huge damage dealer by himself, although he can certainly hold his own. Ramza’s forward bravery attacks are great for pushing enemies into the wall, letting you hit them with another attack like his standard two sword strike bravery attack. Meanwhile, his back bravery attacks are both ranged, with him throwing a rock on the round and calling down a magic explosion in the air. The ground ranged is best used when an enemy is rushing straight at you to stop and stagger them, but the aerial one can be a bit tricky to land. Honestly, it’s best used against an enemy that isn’t targeting you, or one that isn’t moving quickly.

Ramza’s real strength comes with his EX Skill, Shout. By holding down triangle you can charge the skill up quickly, then pressing triangle again will let you use it. Hold triangle down when using the skill and you’ll buff your teammates’ attack, defense, and speed. Simply tap the button and you’ll do the same for just Ramza to a higher degree, also extending the range of some of his combos. When playing as Ramza, you want to make liberal use of Shout to buff both you and your team constantly. Combining this with other EX Skills like HP Regen and Boost Defense can make Ramza an invaluable support to your team.

On top of this, all of Ramza’s HP attacks have medium range and quick execution, meaning you can zip in and land one on an enemy that’s unaware. Stick close to your teammates and Ramza becomes an incredibly useful character in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
