Higher Mercenary Tiers Give You Better Prices

One of the first things I definitely wish I knew before playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the fact that hunting down mercenaries can save you a lot of money. At the start of the game, you’ll be in the lowest mercenary tier. As you defeat more mercenaries who are ranked higher than you, you’ll progress to the next tier. And once you reach the next tier, your blacksmith prices will be much better. This means that you’ll be able to upgrade your gear at a slightly cheaper cost, which is great, considering how much the prices can spike as the level gap increases.

However, you’ll also want to be careful with your bounty. When your bounty gets too high, it becomes pretty dangerous to get caught in open fights. Being spotted in a restricted area, for instance, will cause nearby mercenaries to flock to your location. This means that you’ll have even more enemies to juggle at once, which can mean a quick death. Either kill the bounty sponsors, pay it off yourself, or be patient and wait it out.
