No, Link’s Awakening is not a brand-new Zelda adventure, but it is a frame-by-frame remaster of the original Game Boy classic that came out in 1993.
Link’s Awakening plays like your typical top-down Zelda title such as Link to the Past, but this game is so different as Zelda and Ganon do not make an appearance at all –the game doesn’t even take place in Hyrule as a matter of fact.
This remake looks utterly charming, both visually and gameplay-wise, and will hopefully bring more attention to this underrated classic.
It’s coming out on Switch on Sept. 20.
